Como’s stadium was completed in 1927, built to the specific request of Benito Mussolini. It was an innovative structure thanks to the velodrome, the ring that was on the edge of the pitch and which had one of the steepest parabolic curves in Europe.

Renovation work was completed on the grandstand in 1990, which was demolished and then rebuilt. The stand area was also renovated in the mid-’90s, and in the summer of 2002 the historic “Curva Azzura” was transformed into the “Curva Como”. The Curva changed from a concrete structure (from 1927) with scaffolding pipe, to a structure made entirely of scaffolding pipe and with a capacity that increased from 3,500 to 5,000 spectators.

The last part to be renovated was the visiting end in 2003/04. The current stadium capacity is 13,600 people, reduced to 8,028 for the Lega Pro championship. However, during the year in Serie A (2002/03) the capacity was 18,000, before the most recent work on the visiting end.
