Como with Telethon to support research in the match against Vicenza

The Como 1907 will host a station of the Telethon Foundation during the match against Vicenza scheduled for Monday 25 April at 18.00.
The will of the Larian Club is to involve its fans in raising funds for research and in particular for rare genetic diseases.
A disease is defined as “rare” when its prevalence does not exceed the threshold of 0.05% of the population, ie 5 cases in 10,000 people. The number of known and diagnosed rare diseases fluctuates between 7,000 and 8,000, but it is a figure that grows with the advancement of science and, in particular, with the progress of genetic research. According to the Orphanet Italia network, there are about 2 million rare patients in our country: in 70% of cases they are pediatric patients.
Telethon since 1990 has been committed to supporting research that continues day by day, giving important results that translate into an improvement in the quality of life of many people, of many children and of their parents.
The Club has decided to support Telethon and above all the new coordination of Como, established in 2020 and which is active in the search for funds throughout the Como area. Among the numerous initiatives that will be launched in the months of May and June to raise funds there will be walks, concerts and bicycle rides.
More info on the initiatives in the Como area can be found on the Facebook page Telethon Como Provincial coordination.
