After the success of last year’s edition, the virtual couple race for a Valentine’s Day in solidarity is back. It is called #RunforMeyer #RunforLove and it is the sports event promoted by the Meyer Foundation on the day dedicated to lovers, to which Lega Serie B reaffirms its commitment again this year to concretely promote and support the initiative.
A collaboration, the one with the Florence Children’s Hospital Foundation, that has been going on for several years and has produced numerous results and great satisfaction on the part of the B family as Lega B President Mauro Balata reiterates: “We decisively affirm the responsibility for soccer that is ethical but also close and attentive to people’s needs. In this sense, a special place is held by the children who suffer along with those facilities that work to care for them along with their families. These initiatives will always find a welcoming and supportive shore in League B“.
Field activities To support and sustain the #RunForLove, a series of actions have been prepared by the League for the 24th day of Serie BKT (scheduled for Feb. 10, 11 and 12) with #runformeyer social activities, press releases and activation of sideline LEDs along with a speaker message in all stadiums.

Play Therapy Project: as always, #RunforMeyer #RunforLove will help support play therapy, a special treatment that seeks to give children and their families back some serenity even while they are hospitalized. The project brings play, reading, music, clowns and four-legged merriment to Meyer. But there are many projects that help children stay that way even during illness.
In pet therapy, the protagonists are sweet, professional little dogs who, together with their handlers, bring cheer and joy to the little hospitalized children throughout the hospital.
Clowns in the ward bring smiles and laughter to wards and emergency rooms: the jokes and pranks of these fun-loving professionals are the best medicine to chase away boredom and fear. The techniques and repertoire of these professionals take into account the place where they work, the circumstances, and the conditions of the children, involving parents, visitors, and hospital workers in their play, whom they sometimes assist during painful and complicated procedures. Among the most beloved places for children is undoubtedly the Ludobiblio, a cozy and colorful space open to all little ones both hospitalized and passing through for visits or checkups. In this room full of light and workshops, people can play games, borrow toys, receive visits from little brothers and friends, attend performances, participate in parties and creative workshops.
Meyermusica offers music in an original and creative way in every ward and collective places of the Hospital, involving children, parents, operators and visitors, creating a captivating sound environment and acting positively on states of tension and stress.
