Como Signs Promising Goalkeeper Noel Törnqvist from Mjällby AIF

Como has reached an agreement to acquire 23-year-old Swedish goalkeeper Noel Törnqvist from Allsvenskan side Mjällby AIF, the club announced today. The agreement includes a loan-back arrangement, meaning he will remain with Mjällby for the remainder of the 2025 season.

Born in 2002, Törnqvist has established himself as one of Sweden’s most promising young goalkeepers. Over the past three seasons, he has been the starter for Mjällby, making more than 80 appearances and helping the club, which currently sits at the top of the Swedish league standings.

Expressing his enthusiasm about the move, Törnqvist said: “Playing in Serie A has been a lifelong dream, I’m over the moon. I spoke with Coach Cesc Fàbregas, who explained to me Como’s style of play. I have also watched many of the team’s matches and I am very happy to be joining this club.”

Como head coach Cesc Fàbregas commented: “Noel has great presence in goal and is very comfortable with the ball at his feet. We are very pleased to know that he will be joining Como in the future.”
