Visit Como

Lake Como, Italy’s third largest lake and an exclusive getaway destination since the days when Roman senators holidayed here.

More recently, Huffington Post called it the most beautiful lake in the world for its landscapes, wildlife, and spas, sailing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing. Its shores are studded with stunning villas and beautiful gardens as well as fifteen baroque chapels built between 1635 and 1710.

While the Sacro Monte di Ossuccio on its western edge is a UNESCO world heritage site. Como, a charming city located in the Lombardy region of Northern Italy, exudes timeless allure with its blend of natural beauty, history, and culture. Nestled on the shores of Lake Como, the city offers breathtaking views of the glistening waters and surrounding Alpine peaks. The city’s narrow streets are lined with elegant buildings, boutique shops, and quaint cafes.

Meanwhile Como itself is packed full of works of art, churches, gardens, museums, theatres, parks, and palaces. Its cuisine, like the traditional Risotto al Pesce Persico made from local fish, is heavenly, while the locally grown wine is superb. Everything here is steeped in tradition from hotels that have been passed down through generations, to the olive presses and restaurants, and of course the football club itself.

One of Como’s most prominent attractions is its beautiful lake. Boat trips to the nearby picturesque towns of Bellagio and Varenna are popular, offering mesmerising views of the surrounding landscape. Como’s allure extends to its vibrant cultural scene. The city hosts numerous events and festivals throughout the year, celebrating art, music, and traditional Italian cuisine. Como’s location makes it an excellent base for exploring the broader region. Milan, the fashion capital of Italy, is easily accessible by train. Como leaves an indelible mark on all who visit.
