Como’s Pre-Season Concludes With Barça Friendly

Como 1907 wrapped up their pre-season campaign with a prestigious friendly against FC Barcelona this evening for the Joan Gamper Trophy at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.

The match ended 5–0 in favour of the hosts, the reigning La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup champions, offering Como a valuable opportunity to test themselves against one of Europe’s elite sides ahead of the new season.

The fixture also carried significant emotional weight for three members of the Como squad. Players Sergi Roberto and Álex Valle, as well as Head Coach Cesc Fàbregas all returned to face the club where they came through the youth ranks. 

Sergi Roberto captained the team from the start and received a standing ovation from the home crowd when substituted in the second half.

The squad now returns to Como to begin final preparations for their first competitive fixture of the 2026/26 season: a Coppa Italia match against Südtirol, scheduled for Saturday, August 16, at the Sinigaglia.
