Match Preview Napoli vs Como

Both coming off victories, Napoli and Como will meet tomorrow at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona for what promises to be a high-quality encounter. After their Champions League defeat to PSV Eindhoven, Napoli bounced back with wins over Inter at home and Lecce away, showing real character and maintaining top spot in the table, level on points with Roma. Como 1907, meanwhile, followed up a goalless draw against Parma with a 3-1 victory at home against Verona in the midweek fixture. Tomorrow, league leaders Napoli will host fifth-placed Como at 18:00.

Napoli

Despite several absences, notably Meret, De Bruyne, Lobotka, Lukaku and Lang, the hosts still have a strong and versatile squad at their disposal. This will allow Antonio Conte to either stick with the 4-1-4-1 formation used at the start of the season or revert to last season’s 4-3-3 setup with two traditional wingers.

The Azzurri are an intense, physical side, strong in the air duel and dangerous from set pieces. They work hard to push as many players as possible into the penalty area when attacking, creating density and chaos to make the most of the talents of Scott McTominay, Lorenzo Lucca, Rasmus Højlund and Frank Zambo Anguissa.

The latter is one of Serie A’s most in-form players, having scored twice in his last two matches (four in total this season), one to seal the home win against Inter and another to secure three points in Lecce. Napoli’s squad could also be boosted by the return of key defender Amir Rrahmani, who is back from injury, as well as Rasmus Højlund, who came off the bench in Lecce and is edging closer to full fitness.

The trip to Naples promises to be a difficult one for the Lariani, who will come up against a confident side.

Previous Matches

Como and Napoli have faced each other 34 times in competitive matches across Serie A, Serie B and the Coppa Italia. The head-to-head record favours Napoli, with 21 wins to Como’s six, along with seven draws.
