First Time in the Starting XI for Fellipe Jack
Fellipe Jack, Como 1907’s 19-year-old central defender, recently reached a significant milestone in his football career by making his first start for the club in the match against Venezia on Saturday, March 8.
Reflecting on this monumental moment, Jack said: “When I received the news about being in the starting XI, I felt very happy and accomplished. Playing for the first team in Serie A at just nineteen was a dream come true, and it filled me with immense pride and happiness.”
The young defender also highlighted the significance of playing in front of the home crowd and having his family present in the stands, which added a special touch to his debut. He acknowledged the fast progression of his career and emphasized his commitment to improving continuously: “I’m enjoying this moment as much as possible. I’m really happy here, and everything is happening so quickly in my life. Now, I just want to keep working hard, train even more, and continue improving my game to earn more opportunities.”
Before making his first start for the club, Fellipe made his Serie A debut against Fiorentina back in November at the Sinigaglia coming in at the 78th minute
Jack’s seamless transition from the academy to the first team has been facilitated by the support of his coaches and teammates. After the game, head coach Cesc Fàbregas offered words of encouragement for the young player, “Fellipe Jack was having a great game, and I believe he has a bright future with us at Como. He is a player who fits our philosophy and will be important for us, especially considering he is only 19 years old.
He did make a small mistake, it’s true, but these things happen—it’s all part of his development. Today was a special day for him and one of the positives of the evening. Making his first start at professional level is a moment Fellipe will remember for the rest of his life.”
