A thank you to Alessandro Bellemo as he departs to Sampdoria

Como 1907 can confirm the loan with an obligation to buy of Alessandro Bellemo to Sampdoria. Bellemo came to us in 2019 after we got promoted to Serie C. After winning Serie C in 2020/21 he became our captain leading us in Serie B and to promotion back to Serie A. He leaves us with 173 appearances in all competitions.

In a message to the player, the ownership group said: “We would like to sincerely thank Alessandro for all his efforts and sacrifices he’s made in his five years here with us in Como. We wish him nothing but the best in this next stage of his career. He will forever be our captain and will forever be a part of the Como and Sent family.”

Cesc Fàbregas, head coach, Como 1907, said: “I couldn’t have asked for a better captain when I first arrived here as a player and on my first job as a head coach. A great example on and off the pitch to all of us. I wish him and his family all the very best in this new chapter. A true Como 1907 legend”.

Sporting director Carlaberto Ludi continued: “It has been a great honour for me to share these five years with our captain. a true leader who always put the team first. I can only thank him and reiterate that I will always have affection for him, as we do for someone who is a great man before being a great player.”
