In Como, sport continues to represent an important tool for inclusion, participation, and shared growth. Within this path lies the Trofeo Città di Cantù, an international wheelchair tennis tournament that is now a well-established fixture in the ITF world calendar, and which this year once again benefited from the concrete support of Como 1907.
Now in its seventh edition, the Trofeo confirms itself as a key event for athletes from all over the world, not only for its sporting value but also for its strategic role in awarding points valid for international rankings. Held between late April and early May, the tournament often represents a decisive stage in view of world qualifiers and major Paralympic events.
Over the years, the event has recorded steady and significant growth, reaching 115 registered participants in the 2026 edition, with athletes coming from all over the world. An event that requires significant organizational effort, particularly in terms of logistics, transport, hospitality, management of travel, and the identification of suitable accommodation facilities.
In this context, the support of Fondazione Como ETS has been crucial, renewing for the third consecutive year its commitment to a more accessible and inclusive sport, contributing concretely to the organizational sustainability of the tournament, especially in terms of transport and athletes’ mobility.
Alongside the Foundation’s support, Como 1907 also provided its Inclusivity Bus, a dedicated minibus for people with motor disabilities, which helped ensure more efficient transfers and significantly improved the overall experience of athletes throughout the event.

“The collaboration with Como 1907 is a concrete example of how sport can create value when different organizations share the same vision. The support received and, in particular, the availability of the Inclusivity Bus, was fundamental to the success of the event: a valuable contribution that allowed us to ensure a high-level welcome and organization for all participating athletes,” said Antonio Serrago, President of Circolo Tennis Cantù.
The value of the Trofeo goes beyond the purely competitive aspect. Since its inception, the event has been based on the desire to spread a message of inclusion and equal opportunities, with the belief that sport represents a universal language capable of fostering connection, building relationships, and overcoming all barriers.
A principle that Como 1907 and Circolo Tennis Cantù share and actively promote every day, both on and off the pitch.
