Como 1907 brings Physical Education to Primary Schools
Como 1907 continues its commitment to young students with the Piscinin project, an initiative dedicated to physical education and the promotion of sports values in primary schools across Como. After last year’s pilot project, this year the Piscinin project is already active in 12 classes and will expand to 26 by the end of the school year.
Born within the Larian youth academy from an idea by Coach Giancarlo Centi, the Piscinin project took shape thanks to the contribution of Mattia Belluzzi, Emanuel Rossi and Deborah Faverio, who envisioned and organised the initiative to meet the aim of responding to the different needs of the local primary schools. With the support of Como 1907, Piscinin aims to fill a gap, by focusing on the first, second and third graders, where there is currently a lack of a figure dedicated to motoric education.
“Our aim is to support young people’s motor development by offering a quality programme designed by professionals,” explains Mattia. “We want to provide young people with something meaningful, not only for their physical growth but also for their well-being and personal development, by providing structured and consistent support for schools.”
The project is based on the integration between theory and practice, aligning motor activities with school learning paths. During the lessons, the coaches work closely with the teachers to design activities linked to school subjects, making each session a genuinely educational experience. In fact, the aim is that, once the project is over, the school can retain skills through games and exercises that have been practised with the help of our experts.
“So far, the feedback from schools has been extremely positive,” says Emanuel. “Teachers and pupils have appreciated the project’s hands-on and engaging approach, which has made motor education a shared moment of growth, enriching the teaching experience and sparking children’s curiosity.”
Como 1907’s support has been essential in transforming this initiative into a tangible project with significant impact on the local area. “The club’s backing has allowed the project to grow, improving the quality and effectiveness of the activities we offer,” says Mattia Belluzzi. “Thanks to Como 1907, we’re able to reach more schools, spreading the club’s values and colours, fostering a sense of belonging, and promoting a positive image of our club in the community.”
Through projects like Piscinin, Back To School, and Respect & Play, Como 1907 establishes itself as a reference point of the local community, helping to nurture the next generation not only as athletes but also as thoughtful and respectful individuals.
