Como 1907 is pleased to announce the renewal of the French goalkeeper's contract until June 2030.
Since arriving on the shores of Lake Como in January 2025, Butez has made 63 appearances and kept 26 clean sheets in Serie A and the Coppa Italia. He played a key role in the team’s tenth-place finish last season, which was their first ever qualification for the Champions League.
With Butez in goal, Como 1907 finished the 2025/26 season with the best defence in Serie A (29 goals conceded) and the highest number of clean sheets (19).
Commenting on the contract renewal, Jean Butez said: "From day one, I’ve felt at home in Como, with the squad, the club and the fans. This contract extension reflects the trust that has been placed in me, and my family and I are delighted to be here. I’m always hungry for new challenges, and I firmly believe that this is just the beginning of something special. Together, we can achieve even greater things with Como."
"Over the past year and a half, Jean has proven himself to be one of the best goalkeepers in Serie A and a player who fits perfectly into our style of play," said Como coach Cesc Fabregas. "We’ve also found a man of great character who brings a lot to the team in the locker room. We’re very happy to be able to continue with him."
