Como 1907 is proud to celebrate the Primavera Femminile team, who have secured first place in Group A of Primavera 2 and earned promotion to Primavera 1, the top national Under 19 division.
The achievement was confirmed with a home victory over Vicenza Femminile at the SNEF Lambrone Sports Center, bringing to a close an exceptional season for the young Biancoblù.
Led by coach Alessandro Recenti, the team earned promotion in their first year in Primavera 2, finishing the campaign with a perfect record. Sixteen matches, sixteen wins, zero draws and zero defeats. The team finished eight points ahead of second placed Bologna, with the best attack and best defence in the league.
It is a proud moment for the club and an important step in the continued development of Como 1907’s women’s football pathway, from the youth sector through to the first team.
Head of Women’s Football Heather O’Reilly said, “Winning the league is a massive accomplishment. The team and staff came together very quickly, so a lot of character, hard work and unity towards a common goal really shined this season. We want to continue to build the women and girls sector of the club where players feel like they are getting better because of a talented coaching and support staff, but also by their teammates that push them everyday. Onwards to Primavera 1! And a big congrats to the players, staff and families. Forza Como”.
Coach Alessandro Recenti added, “From day one, we tried to build something meaningful. It’s been an incredible season, and the players have been fantastic. I want to thank the staff, managers and directors, they made a real difference, because we immediately understood the potential of the Club and the identity we needed to establish. The team quickly became a real group, and the journey we’ve taken, and are still on, has been defined by the players’ mental strength. They had a goal, and they achieved it. I feel very lucky to work in an environment like Como 1907.”
