Como 1907 is pleased to announce the signing of Spanish goalkeeper Robert Sánchez on loan from Chelsea F.C. until the end of the 2026/27 season.
Born in 1997, Sánchez spent time in Levante's youth system before joining Brighton & Hove Albion at the age of 15. After loan spells with Forest Green Rovers and Rochdale, he returned to Brighton and made his Premier League debut in November 2020, establishing himself as the club's first choice goalkeeper.
In August 2023, Sánchez joined Chelsea. He went on to play six matches as the club won the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, receiving the Golden Glove as the tournament's best goalkeeper, and also featured for Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League.
With more than 170 Premier League appearances to his name, Sánchez has also represented Spain at senior level and was part of the national team squads for UEFA EURO 2020 and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Como 1907 Head Coach Cesc Fàbregas said: "Robert brings experience at the highest level and qualities that suit the way we want to play. He is a strong goalkeeper with a big presence, but he is also very comfortable with the ball and can help us build from the back. We are very happy to welcome him to Como."
On his arrival in Como, Robert Sánchez said: "I feel amazing, it's been a great welcoming. I'm very happy to be here, I will do my best to improve this team, I can't wait to get started".
