Como 1907 is pleased to announce that Ignace Van Der Brempt will join the club on loan from Salzburg.
After the season on loan at Hamburg, the Belgian defender arrives in Como on a one-year loan with option and obligation to buy. A 2002-born full-back, Ignace grew up in Bruges’ youth sector before making his Pro League debut in 2019. In 2022, he moved to the Austrian top league to Salzburg.
Ignace also recorded 12 appearances between UEL and UCL wearing the Bruges and Salzburg shirts. In 2023, he took part in the European Under-21 Championship in Romania with the Belgium national team.
Cesc Fàbregas, coach of Como, commented on Van Der Brempt’s arrival: “He is a right-back who can also play as a centre-back because he started his career in that role. He is a young player, tall and with a physical build that allows us to add different characteristics in that role.”
Upon signing, Ignace Van der Brempt said: “I chose to come here because there is a very ambitious project, plus playing in a league like Serie A has always been a dream for me. I can’t wait to get on the pitch, I am a very ambitious guy and I had a good feeling about this move straight away, I am ready.”
