Como 1907 signs Serie B midfielder Florin Wagner

Como 1907 is pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Florin Wagner on a one-year contract.

Thirty years old coming from Germany, Florin is a midfielder with vast experience gained from playing across Europe.

Born in 1994, she made her Bundesliga debut at 17 with Lokomotive Leipzig (later known as FFV Leipzig). Over three years with the team, she made 26 appearances across both Bundesliga 1 and 2.

In 2014, she moved to Lucerne in Switzerland, making her Nationalliga A debut before joining Neunkirch, also in Nationalliga A (now known as the Women’s Super League).

In 2016, she played for Sparta Prague, where, at the age of 22, she debuted in the UEFA Champions League.

In 2017, she signed for Åland United in Finland’s top league, Naisten Liiga, contributing 15 appearances and 4 goals towards the team’s survival in the league.

After playing in the Canadian university league with the University of Manitoba, she moved to AGSM Verona in 2018, making her Serie A debut with Verona in March of that year.

In 2019, she returned to Northern Europe, signing for Fart (Norway), before moving on for the 2020/21/22 seasons, first to Florentia SG and then to Sampdoria in Serie A.

Florin joins Como 1907 after two seasons in Serie B with Torres and Ternana.

Heather O’Reilly, advisor to Como 1907’s Women’s team, commented on the signing: “Florin will be a great addition to our midfield. As we continue our quest for improvement and promotion, experience at the highest level is critical. Florin has played in top leagues in Germany and also has Champions League experience. She is exactly the kind of personality who can lead our squad. We are looking forward to welcoming Florin to the Como family.”

After signing for the club, Florin said: “Como is an extraordinary city and being part of an ambitious club with which all the people identify creates an extraordinary and unique atmosphere! It will be an intense championship, the group works hard and I am optimistic that we can go very far. I want to pass on my experience, it will be a challenging championship but we will grow as a team on and off the pitch. Forza Como!”
