Como 1907 signs striker Corina Luijks from Al Shabab

Como 1907 is pleased to announce the signing of striker Corina Luijks on a one-year contract.

Twenty-eight years old Dutch forward Corina brings experience from several European leagues. She began her career in RKSV Holsteren’s mixed youth academy, playing alongside the boys, where she made 154 appearances over seven seasons.

At the age of 15, she moved to Smerdiek, in the Dutch second division. With the Zeeland team, Corina made 66 appearances and scored 42 goals before moving to the BeNe League in 2013, where she played for Anderlecht and Kontich.

In 2015, she debuted in the Eredivisie (first division of the Dutch league) with PSV Eindhoven, and the following season, she moved to Lierse and then to Excelsior.

After three seasons in Eredivisie, she joined Pink Bari in Serie A and made her debut against Chievo-Verona Valpo scoring the first goal of the match.

Corina has also competed in French, Belgian and Turkish leagues representing ASJ Soyaux, Zulte Waregem, and Fatih Karagymruk between 2020 and 2023.

In 2021, under Carolina Morace, Corina won the women’s Serie A championship with Lazio.

Corina joins Como 1907 after a season in the Saudi Women’s Premier League side Al Shabab.

Heather O’Reilly, advisor to Como 1907’s Women’s team, commented: ‘’Corina is a very skilled player.  She is great in tight spaces and can get her shots off with not a lot of room to work.  She has a powerful strike and will help us with our finishing.  We are excited to have her”.

After signing for the club, Corina said: “I believe this is a fantastic club with a strong project and rich history, set in a beautiful city, and with great potential for fast growth. The men’s team can serve as a great example for us as we aim to achieve similar goals and go even forward. I’m excited to bring my experience to the team and help the younger players grow both on and off the pitch, while being a role model for them.”
