Como 1907 supports the “Pink Ribbon” campaign in the fight against breast cancer

Como “takes the field” with LILT – Como section, the Italian League for the Fight against Cancer, and on the occasion of the internal match against Benevento, scheduled for Saturday 22 October at 2.00 pm, the Giuseppe Sinigaglia stadium will be present a banquet for donations to support the fight and prevention of breast cancer.
The pink pin, an icon of the fight against breast cancer, is a universal symbol that LILT has made thanks to a special shape: an incomplete ribbon. The missing colored portion represents women who still do not survive a breast cancer diagnosis. It is the commitment to support the search for care for all women. The month of October is dedicated to the fight against breast cancer and support for research, a commitment that is important to carry out every day of the year.
Throughout the game, Mister Moreno Longo and his staff will wear the pink pin, as will all the Como players when entering the field, to support the research and send a message.
Breast cancer affects one in eight women in their lifetime and is thus the most common cancer in women. In 2020, about 55,000 women were affected but thanks to research, survival is constantly increasing and has gone from 81% to 87% in the last 20 years. In fact, since the end of the nineties, a continuous trend towards a decrease in mortality from breast cancer (-0.8% / year) has been observed, attributable to a greater diffusion of early diagnosis programs (therefore to diagnostic anticipation) and also to therapeutic progress. .
To support the research, it is possible to buy a Pink Ribbon pin as well as at the stadium during the match on 22 October, also at the LILT Solidarity Shop or from the association’s partners.
