Como 1907’s U10: San Siro Cup Champions

Last week, Como 1907’s U10 squad participated in San Siro Cup; an international tournament attended by 20 teams from Italy and abroad. In addition, Noel Lombardo, the team’s left winger won the tournament’s MVP award after scoring 20 goals in 10 games.

Head coach Andrea Scanziani spoke about the tournament and his coaching philosophy, “We took home the trophy by winning all 10 of our matches, including a convincing 4-1 victory in the finals over Romanian side Stiinta Bucharest who eliminated Inter Milan. However, we’re proud of the boys regardless. At their age, results are not the most important thing.

“I believe that every child should learn to handle the ball with the best degree of skill possible to master everything that happens during the game. It’s also important to transfer their passion for football and the training culture to take care of themselves”.
