Eat at La P’Osteria

Introducing the local businesses that make up Como’s COMO4COMO Community

Nestled along the banks of the Telo River in Argegno, La P’Osteria is more than just a dining destination—it’s a heartfelt homage to Lake Como’s rich culinary and cultural tapestry. Housed in a charming building that once served as the village post office, the restaurant seamlessly blends historical charm with contemporary warmth. Original postal artifacts and rustic stone walls create an ambiance that invites guests to step into a space where tradition meets modernity.

Established over a decade ago by the Civelli family, La P’Osteria began as a modest venture rooted in a deep love for the region. What started with lakeside apartments in Argegno has blossomed into a multifaceted hospitality project, encompassing a cozy restaurant, a vibrant bistrot perfect for traditional aperitifs, and an enoteca boasting an impressive collection of over a thousand wine labels. Each expansion reflects a commitment to quality and authenticity, eschewing haste for thoughtful growth.

Central to La P’Osteria’s philosophy is the concept of the “Chilometro della Conoscenza”—the kilometer of knowledge. This approach transcends the typical “kilometro zero” ethos by emphasising deep, personal relationships with local producers and distributors. It’s not just about proximity; it’s about trust and understanding the story behind every ingredient. This dedication ensures that each dish served is not only fresh but also rich in heritage.

A testament to this philosophy is their signature dish, Spaghetti al Missoltino. Crafted using freshly caught agoni fish from Lake Como, the dish is a flavorful nod to local traditions. By collaborating directly with local fishermen, La P’Osteria preserves the spirit of the territory, offering diners an authentic taste of the lake’s bounty.

The menu, deeply rooted in regional flavors, showcases a harmonious blend of lake specialties and Piedmontese influences. Diners can savor dishes like the Tagliata di Vitello con Sale—succulent veal slices served with a selection of artisanal salts and olive oil—or indulge in seasonal delights that highlight the freshest local produce. Each plate tells a story, inviting guests to embark on a culinary journey through Northern Italy.

Beyond its culinary offerings, La P’Osteria maintains a close-knit relationship with Como 1907, the city’s beloved football club. Owner Niccolò Civelli’s passion for the team dates back to his youth, when he would cycle to watch training sessions in Orsenigo. This bond has evolved into a professional collaboration, with the restaurant proudly being part of the Como4Como network.

Recognition for La P’Osteria’s dedication to excellence has come in the form of inclusion in esteemed guides like ilGolosario. Yet, the team remains driven, aspiring to further accolades such as being featured in Osterie d’Italia. Their vision is clear: to continue innovating while staying true to their roots, serving both tourists seeking genuine experiences and locals in search of culinary authenticity.
