In their opening match of the Primavera 1 season, Como 1907 travelled away to play against Empoli, who secured a 1–0 victory.
The young BiancoBlu players put in a spirited performance, particularly in the final stages of the match, when they pushed strongly in search of an equaliser. Despite their efforts, they were unable to find the back of the net. It was an evenly contested match, with both sides carefully sizing each other up in the first half before the game opened up and became much more lively after the break. The match also marked the competitive debuts for goalkeeper Mattia Damioli, defender Almamy Soumah and forward Robin Thiland-Herard in Como colours.
Attention now turns to next week, when the BiancoBlu will welcome Juventus on Saturday, 29 August, with kick-off at 4:45 p.m.
