ENDpolio Now

Como 1907 is proud to support the important work of Rotary International’s EndPolio Now program. Polio is a highly contagious disease that mainly affects children under the age of five. It can attack the nervous system and, in some cases, lead to paralysis. There is no cure, but there is a safe and effective vaccine that Rotary, in collaboration with WHO, is funding through the EndPolio Now project to immunise more than 2.5 billion children worldwide.

For every ticket sold for the matches against Pisa and SudTirol, scheduled on 16 March and 1 April respectively, the club will donate 1€ to the EndPolio Now project.

The CEO of Como 1907, Francesco Terrazzani, explained, “We are very proud to be able to give, together with our fans, a contribution to this wonderful initiative that has been fighting this disease on the front line for many years. This project over time has achieved concrete results thanks to the wonderful work and commitment of so many people, and that is why it is important to give support.”

The President of the Rotary Club Como, Francesca Maria D’Asta, commented, “I thank Como 1907 for deciding to help support Rotary International’s End Polio Now Programme, showing great sensitivity and willingness. Thanks to the worldwide collaboration of partners, governments and communities, to date, Rotary International has immunised over 2.5 billion children in 122 countries”.
