From Como 1907’s Academy to the First Team, who is Fellipe Jack?

Fellipe Jack, a name that might not be etched into Italian football history just yet, is quietly making waves in Serie A with Como 1907. Born in Brazil, on January 12, 2006, Fellipe’s  journey from São Paulo to Como is one of focus. When asked about his passions and what his future looks like, Fellipe Jack’s answer has always been just one thing: football.

Fellipe’s football journey began in a more unorthodox way as he first honed his skills playing futsal, which is a football-like game played on a hardcourt, a heavier ball, and between two teams of 5 players each instead of 11. “I started playing futsal for Vila Santista, then moved to Portuguesa. But when I was 10 years old, the big call came—from Palmeiras”.

It was here, at SE Palmeiras playing in the club’s youth ranks, that he caught the eye of scouts from Como 1907.

In January 2024, Fellipe signed with Como 1907’s Youth Academy on loan for the remainder of the season with the option to buy. On signing Osian Roberts, the club’s head of development, said. “Fellipe has great potential and he has a huge opportunity to thrive here. We look forward to working with him and seeing how he settles here while on loan”.

It didn’t take long for Fellipe to prove Roberts right.

It took him less than a year to make the first team squad and make his Serie A debut. In the 79th minute, under the lights at the Giuseppe Sinigaglia stadium, Fellipe Jack took the field coming on as a substitute for Federico Barba against Fiorentina. While the game did not end with a result the team was hoping for, it was still a night to remember for him

Making my Serie A debut was an incredible feeling—a dream come true. Since I was a child, I have always aspired to become a professional footballer, and experiencing this moment has brought immense joy to me and my family. It’s a feeling that is difficult to put into words, a mix of happiness and pride.”

The confidence he plays with is innate. However, it also stems from his team and most importantly from his head coach. Before making his debut, Cesc Fàbregas gave him a quick pep talk as he told BLU. “Before I went on, coach Fàbregas told me to stay calm, play with personality, and stick to what I’ve been training for. He encouraged me to trust myself and assured me that everything would go well”.

This advice from his coach and the exposure to experienced players like Alberto Moreno, Sergi Roberto, and Edoardo Goldaniga, is setting Fellipe Jack up for success. While he has big goals in mind for his future, he is currently absorbing everything his teammates and his coaches tell him, and hopes to remain in Como for a long time. As a fan of the club and the city itself, Jack has embraced his new life in Como. He recently shared, “I like the city a lot, it’s peaceful: just the way I like it. It’s my first time in Europe, and it’s exciting because it’s the dream of every Brazilian football player to play here”

As his career continues, BLU thinks he is one to watch.
