From Lakeside to the World: Como on the World Stage

The November international break sent Como 1907’s players across the globe: from Vienna to Luanda, from Pristina to Leeuwarden. Yet as they return to Mozzate, one theme stands out clearly: more and more Bianco Blu players are taking centre stage on world football’s biggest platforms.

Posch and Vojvoda: Historic Milestones with Austria and Kosovo

For Stefan Posch and Mërgim Vojvoda, this wasn’t just another international window, it was one they’ll carry with them for the rest of their careers.

Posch helped guide Austria to the 2026 World Cup. In the 2–0 away win over Cyprus, he completed the full 90 minutes in the back line, helping the team keep yet another clean sheet. A few days later, he came on in the 69th minute of the decisive group match against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Vienna. The 1–1 draw was enough to seal top spot in Group H.

Austria finished the group with six wins from eight matches, boasting the best defensive record with just four goals conceded, alongside 22 scored.  Austria are heading back to a World Cup after 28 years, a journey Posch played a real part in.

For Vojvoda, history was written on the other side of Europe. His assist for Fisnik Asllani in Kosovo’s 2–0 win in Slovenia set the tone for a break full of meaning. Days later in Pristina, he played the full match in a 1–1 draw with Switzerland, securing Kosovo’s place in the World Cup play-offs for the very first time in Kosovo’s history. The dream of a maiden World Cup appearance lives on.

The Albiceleste Calls: Perrone’s Debut for Argentina

Some moments arrive quietly but stay forever. For Máximo Perrone, that moment came in Luanda, when he pulled on the Argentina shirt for the first time and stepped onto the pitch in the 85th minute for Alexis Mac Allister. With the world champions already qualified for 2026, the November window became an opportunity to test emerging talent, and Perrone was among them.

For Como’s No. 23, it’s a small taste of something bigger, the beginning of a journey that started in Serie A and has now reached across the Atlantic.

Alongside him was teammate Nico Paz, called up again as he continues to integrate into the senior group. Although he did not feature, being part of the camp remains a milestone as Argentina begin preparations for 2026.

La Roja’s Future, Painted in Biancoblù: Ramón, Valle and Jesús Rodríguez

The Spanish U21s have the look of a group on the rise, and three Como players were right at the heart of it as the team sit top of their group in qualifying for EURO 2027.

Jacobo Ramón anchored the defence in a 7–0 win over San Marino in Lugo, while Jesús Rodríguez came off the bench to deliver an assist and score a goal of his own. Days later in Sibiu, during the 2–0 win away to Romania, Ramón, Álex Valle and Rodríguez all started, helping Spain secure another clean sheet and a fifth win from five in their EURO 2027 qualifying group.

Addai Shines for the Netherlands U21

The Netherlands U21s enjoyed a bright international window, and so did Jayden Addai. In Leeuwarden, he played 69 minutes and helped the Oranje to a 2–0 win over Slovenia before heading to Budaörs, where he scored the opening goal against Israel U21, the Netherlands’ only strike in a match that ended in a 3–1 defeat. Ninety minutes, a composed finish, and a performance that highlighted just how quickly he’s developing.

It was another clear sign of his growth on the international stage, with increased minutes and responsibility in a highly competitive environment.

A spot in the Senegal NT for Assane Diao

Assane Diao received a call-up from Senegal for high-profile friendlies against Brazil and Kenya, but physical issues forced him to withdraw before the matches. Even without minutes, his inclusion confirms his growing status within the African champions’ senior squad.

A Global Como

From Posch and Vojvoda’s World Cup milestones to Perrone’s debut in Albiceleste colours, and the standout performances from Spain and the Netherlands’ U21 talents, this international break highlighted a Como 1907 increasingly visible on the global football map.
