Match Report | Como 1907 Primavera & JFA Youth vs Harvard University

In a compelling display of international football cooperation, Como 1907 Primavera, reinforced by five promising talents from the Japanese Football Association (JFA) won the game against Harvard University in a friendly match on Thursday.

The partnership, which originated through Como 1907’s existing relationship with Ajax Football Club, showcases the club’s commitment to expanding its football network and knowledge exchange programs. Two clinical finishes from the Japanese delegates; Hiroto Okawa and Aoi Okazaki were complemented by three goals from the young Lariani; Giuseppe Mazzaglia, Sebastian Burlacu and João Cardozo.

Mark-Jan Fledderus, Como 1907’s director of strategic growth and football partnerships shared his thoughts on the significance of the collaboration: “Our idea is to learn from each other and share knowledge. It’s really interesting to see how the Japanese players relate to our own talents and what they can learn from each other. Football is an international game, and we believe that learning from different angles and cultures will help talents develop and adapt to changing environments. We try to develop and prepare talents for professional football and a big element is learning to deal with changing environments and cultures.”

The collaboration between Como 1907 and JFA represents more than just a single match; it’s part of a broader vision to develop and prepare young talent for professional football careers. The initiative focuses on youth development, technical exchange, and cultural integration programs, providing young players with unique perspectives and learning opportunities.
