The Lariani secured the second consecutive win this season at Marassi, winning 4–1 against Genoa with goals from Baturina, Diao and Nico Paz.
After Osmajić put the home side ahead, Baturina equalised with a long-range finish before playing a key role in the move that Valle finished off, setting up Assane Diao to make it 2–1. Towards the end of the first half, Nico Paz added a third, with Yan Couto providing the assist. In the second half, Como sealed the win in the 78th minute with a counter-attack; new signing Moise Kean, making his debut for Como, set Diao up for his second goal of the evening to seal the win and finish the match 4–1. Italian midfielder Samuele Ricci also made his Como debut during the second half.
The Lariani will be back in action on Thursday, 10 September for the historic first UEFA Champions League fixture against Leipzig at the Sinigaglia.
