Como, 1 July 2026 – The construction site for Como 1907's new Curva Ovest at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia has been awarded the CIS – Sustainable Impact Construction Site (Cantiere Impatto Sostenibile) recognition by ANCE Como, acknowledging the project's commitment to responsible construction practices, safety and sustainability throughout its delivery.
The recognition was presented this morning at ANCE Como's headquarters to Molteni Enrico & C., the contractor responsible for delivering the construction project of the new West Stand.
The project involves the demolition of the existing temporary tubular stand and the construction of a new reinforced concrete structure. The redevelopment forms part of the wider transformation of Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia and is a key step towards bringing the stadium into line with UEFA requirements, enabling Como 1907 to host future European fixtures at its home ground.
The CIS – Sustainable Impact Construction Site programme is a voluntary code of conduct that promotes high standards in environmental, social and economic sustainability, workplace safety, resource management and construction quality. It also encourages collaboration across the supply chain, recognising projects where clients, contractors and suppliers work together to reduce environmental impact and promote responsible construction practices.
As part of the project, Molteni Enrico & C. worked alongside sustainability-focused partners including Feralpi Group and Holcim, helping ensure the construction process reflected the principles of the CIS programme from design through to delivery.
Eugenio Rizzuti, President of ANCE Como, said:
"The CIS programme was created to encourage a shared culture of sustainability across clients, contractors and suppliers. This project demonstrates what can be achieved when everyone involved works towards the same objective, and we hope it provides a positive example for future construction projects."
Eligio Capagni, Managing Director – Property & Facility at Como 1907, said:
"This recognition reflects the care and commitment that have gone into delivering the new Curva Ovest. As we continue developing the stadium, it is important that the work is carried out to high standards, with sustainability considered throughout the process."
Francesco Molteni, Molteni Enrico & C., said:
"Achieving the CIS recognition has been a shared effort from the beginning of the project. It reflects the collaboration between the Club, our suppliers and everyone working on site each day. We are grateful to everyone involved for helping deliver the project with quality, responsibility and care."
The CIS – Sustainable Impact Construction Site programme continues to promote a shared approach to sustainable construction, supporting projects that combine quality, safety and environmental responsibility while encouraging best practice across the construction sector.
