The trip to Cagliari yielded no points for Como 1907 Primavera. Following last week’s victories over Hellas Verona and Manchester United, the Lariani were unable to secure a third consecutive win. Cagliari claimed a 3-2 victory on matchday eight of the Primavera 1 championship, skilfully capitalising on home advantage.
It was Coach Falsini’s side who took the lead. Following a corner from Zamagni, De Paoli rose highest to head home the opener. Five minutes later, Cagliari equalised through Costa, who was the fastest to react to tap-in from inside the six-yard box. On the half-hour mark, Sugamele picked out the bottom corner from the edge of the box to complete the hosts' turnaround.
In the second half, the Biancoblù pushed forward to ramp up the pressure. Nevertheless, Cagliari grabbed a third goal with fifteen minutes remaining, courtesy of a well-timed run from deep by Tronci. The Biancoblù mounted a swift response: once again, De Paoli led the charge for the Lariani, constantly troubling the defence before netting his second of the match to bring the contest back to life. Despite their late push, Coach Falsini’s side could not salvage a point against a Cagliari team that secured their third straight unbeaten home match in the league.
Como 1907 youth team return to the pitch on Wednesday 28 October, hosting Pescara in the round of 32 of the Coppa Italia Primavera. Kick-off is set for 11:00 AM at the Volontè Sports Centre in Rovello Porro.
