Match Preview: Bologna vs Como

After their 2-0 home win against Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio, thanks to Tasos Douvikas’ goal – his third in two games – and Nico Paz’s stunning free kick, Como 1907 returned to the pitch for the second matchday of Serie A Enilive. Tomorrow evening, at the Renato Dall’Ara stadium, the Lariani will face Bologna.

Coach Cesc Fabregas’ statements on the eve of Bologna vs. Como

“Credit to the players for the win last weekend, but the match against Lazio is already behind us, and now we have to keep growing, as there’s always room for improvement. That has to be our strength: a team that runs, presses, is well-prepared and well-organised, and can maintain that over the course of the season. We have to believe in what we’re building.”

“Against Bologna, I expect a physical game, with lots of battles for second balls. We’ll need to press with intensity, move the ball quickly, and find space. If we give them time and freedom, they have the quality to play like a Champions League side. It will be a very different match, and we’ll need the right organisation to approach it properly from the start.”

Bologna

They will face Vincenzo Italiano’s Bologna, who has been at the helm of the Rossoblù since last season. Last season, The Rossoblù enjoyed a historic season, returning to the Champions League and winning the Coppa Italia — a trophy that had eluded them for 51 years — by defeating Milan in the final at the Stadio Olimpico.

Bologna’s new season began at the Olimpico: on the first matchday of the 2025/26 Enilive Serie A season, Italiano’s team was defeated 1-0 by Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma.

Italiano’s Bologna will face Como without the injured Immobile, Holm and Casale.

In attack, the spotlight is on Orsolini, who will form the attacking trio alongside Odgaard and Cambiaghi, supporting lone striker Castro.

In defence, Miranda will make his return after suspension, alongside youngster Vitík, Lucumí and Zortea.

In midfield, Pobega and Freuler will ensure balance in the Rossoblù’s play.
