Diego Martínez Joins Como 1907 Primavera
Como 1907 is pleased to announce the signing of Spanish winger Diego Martínez, born in 2008, from CD Laguna. He will join the Primavera squad, continuing his development within the Biancoblu academy.
Martínez grew up in Tenerife, playing for UD Tahodio, CD Sobradillo Juvenil A and CD Laguna. His path to Como began with participation in the club’s Elite Performance Summer Camp, a two week programme designed to mirror the rhythm and demands of the professional game.
During the camp Diego trained closely with the technical staff, gaining a first hand understanding of the club’s philosophy, identity and values.
Osian Roberts, Head of Development at Como 1907, said:
“When we met with him and his family, two things stood out. First, how much he wanted to really have a go at becoming a professional player. You could see that desire was very strong. Second, how important education is to him and his family. I think that is important with young players, to have that balance of continuing with their education while pushing to be the best player they can be.”
Diego Martínez added:
“I am really happy to be here in Como! The Elite Performance Summer Camp helped me grow as a player, both technically and in terms of confidence. I am committed to the team’s goals this season and I approach everything with a positive mindset. I am excited to grow alongside my teammates and to be part of this project, both on and off the pitch.”
This signing reflects Como 1907’s long-term commitment to a structured and holistic approach to youth development, providing young talent with the environment and support needed to progress towards a professional career in football.
