Infinity Sound: Inclusion and Connection Through Music and Sport

“Sport and music, universal languages capable of breaking down barriers and fostering genuine connections, become powerful tools for promoting social inclusion and supporting both individual and collective wellbeing.”

To mark its tenth anniversary, Infinity Sound—a Como-based association founded in 2015 on the belief that listening, creativity and connection are key to overcoming all barriers—reaffirms its commitment to creating inclusive spaces through shared and creative pathways. Among its ongoing initiatives is the Infinity Sound Ensemble, a project now also supported by Como 1907, which brings together young people with and without disabilities in training experiences that span music and sport, with the aim of breaking down barriers and encouraging new forms of interaction.

The musical activities, organised in collaboration with the Tilt Music School at Villa Imbonati in San Fermo, include both individual and group lessons, aimed at forming fully inclusive bands that perform at local and national events. Alongside this, the project incorporates sports such as basketball and tennis, thanks to a network built with more than ten local associations and social cooperatives.

“Our aim is to build bridges between worlds that should never have been divided. Each project is unique, born from a spark of creativity. We believe that doing things together—with curiosity and passion—is the best way to close the distance between us,” says Alessandro Martire, president of the association.Cristiano, a musician from the Tilt Music School and long-time participant in activities with the Sim-Patia Social Cooperative, adds: “After singing for two hours, they’re able to speak too. Music makes them smile, makes them feel understood. And I feel stronger, because with them, I rediscover emotions that words alone cannot explain.”
