Como 1907 is delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Emma Guidi on a one year contract.
Born in 1996, Emma Guidi began her career in the youth academy of EDP Jesina, where she played a key role in the club’s historic promotion to Serie A, marking her debut in Italy’s top league.
In 2017, she transferred to San Zaccaria in Serie A, followed by moves to Roma CF and Lazio in Serie B. While with Lazio, she achieved promotion to Serie A in 2021.
After various experiences with the youth national teams, Emma was called up in May 2018 to the senior national team for the qualifying round of World Cup 2019 in France, contributing to the Azzurri’s historic return to the World Cup after 20 years.
Heather O’Reilly, recently announced as the driving force behind the ambitious project to bring Como 1907 Women’s team to Serie A, commented: “Emma is a very good goalkeeper that knows what is takes to earn promotion. After speaking with some colleagues that have watched her for years, it was clear that Emma can help this squad tremendously”.
After signing for the club, Emma stated: “The feelings are more than positive, the club is committed to carrying out an all-round growth project. All the prerequisites are in place for an important championship: high-level tools and services, competent staff and a club that has the women’s football project at heart”
