SOS Mozzate plays a crucial role in the community, offering emergency services in collaboration with AREU, non-urgent transport such as home-to-hospital transfers and accompanying patients to medical appointments, as well as assistance during sports events, like the closed-door friendly match against Mantova. These activities are an integral part of their operations, along with training companies, sports organizations and citizens in the use of defibrillators and life-saving techniques.

“Unfortunately, challenges are not lacking,” Antonio continues. “From the increasing demand for scheduled transport, which often exceeds our available resources, to the challenge of recruiting volunteers who share our mission. Raising awareness among local businesses to support us also remains an ongoing challenge.”

The support from Como 1907 has been a significant help for SOS Mozzate. “Thanks to their contribution and that of Sigma, we were able to cover two-thirds of the cost of a new vehicle, a critical milestone for us.” The vehicle, in service since May, is already operational for scheduled transport and is equipped with a platform to load wheelchairs, making it essential for patients with mobility issues.

“Demand is constantly growing, which is why we are launching a new fundraising campaign to purchase another vehicle with the same features. It’s a necessary step to better meet the needs of our community.”
