Valentina Giacinti Arrives On The Lake

Como 1907 Women is pleased to announce the signing of Valentina Giacinti. An Italian Football Hall of Fame member, Giacinti arrives with experience at the highest level having won two Serie A titles, one Coppa Italia, and three Italian Super Cups.

Across a career that has included Atalanta, Napoli, Seattle P.H.A, Mozzanica, Brescia, Milan, Fiorentina, Roma, and Galatasaray, she has scored over 200 goals in Serie A Women, 15 in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, and has made 85 appearances for the Italy Women’s National Team, scoring 26 goals.

On signing Giacinti, Head of Women’s Football Heather O’Reilly said: “Valentina is a major addition to our team. Throughout her career she has consistently contributed, not only with goals but with her work for the group. We have had a strong season so far, but in top level sport you cannot stand still. Bringing Valentina into this squad underlines our focus on what we want to build now and in the seasons ahead.”

On joining Valentina Giacinti added: “I am very happy to be here in Como and I cannot wait to get started. I was impressed by the people at the club and how hard they worked to bring me here. When I received the call, I saw a project where the person comes before the player, and for me that is fundamental if you want to build something important. I am really happy to have accepted.”
