Jakarta Concert Orchestra, supported by Giok Hartono will perform at Teatro Sociale in Como

Como 1907 is delighted to promote “Harmony for Unity”, a concert by the Jakarta Concert Orchestra, which will take place in the beautiful setting of the Teatro Sociale in Como on Saturday, October 26 at 20:30.

A crossroads of cultures, blending avant-garde and tradition, the elegant atmosphere of the Teatro Sociale will host Indonesian Harmonies, an event that brings together the richness of classical music with the uniqueness of Indonesian sounds.

Their tour to Europe is under the support of Giok Hartono, a key figure in the development of the Resonanz Music Studio and wife of Robert Budi Hartono, owner of Como 1907. JCO is celebrated as one of Indonesia’s foremost professional orchestras. It is renowned for its performances that consistently achieve the highest artistic standards.

Recently, the Orchestra successfully presented a concert series entitled ‘An Anime Symphony’, which attracted 7,500 spectators to its latest editions.

The link between the JCO and Como 1907 can be traced back to the origins of this artistic journey: in 1999, Avip Priatna, the JCO’s conductor and a leading figure of Indonesian music in the world, met the music lover Giok Hartono, wife of Robert Budi Hartono, owner of Como 1907.

On Saturday, October 26, the JCO will come to Italy for their European tour as well as to commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Indonesia, further strengthening its deep connection with the city of Como, the Larian club, and Italy.

During the event, fifty professional musicians will enliven the Teatro Sociale di Como, presenting a diverse repertoire of works featuring original compositions and arrangements inspired by traditional Indonesian music themes.

In addition to the Jakarta Orchestra, the Batavia Madrigal Singers—a renowned Indonesian choir with numerous national and international accolades—will also participate in the celebration of Indonesian Harmonies.
