Patrick Cutrone, Como 1907’s Como striker, scored the second goal in the 53rd minute in the first home match of the Serie A Enilive against Bologna, after facilitating the own goal that put the Lariani ahead. Patrick spoke of the confidence he feels in the team and the importance of the crowd’s support at the Sinigaglia.
“I was looking forward to playing this match to redeem myself after Udine. I feel the trust of the team and my teammates, and when you have this trust, you always give your best.
“Playing in our stadium, in front of our people, is like having an extra man on the pitch. Today the fans gave us a big hand. In the other games we also performed well, but today the Sinigaglia effect was felt a lot. It was an extra boost.”
🇮🇹 | “Sono molto contento di aver segnato, perché da attaccante voglio sempre fare gol. Farlo davanti alla mia gente, con la squadra della mia città, è stata un’emozione grandissima. “Giocare nel nostro stadio, davanti alla nostra gente, è come avere un uomo in più in campo. Oggi i tifosi ci hanno dato una grande mano. Anche nelle altre partite abbiamo fatto buone prestazioni, ma oggi l’effetto Sinigaglia si è sentito molto. È stata una spinta in più.”

🇬🇧 | On Saturday 14 September 2024, the Serie A Enilive returned in Como at the Sinigaglia Stadium after 21 years. Como 1907 played against Bologna for the fourth matchday of the championship drawing 2-2. Emil Audero debuted for the Lariani while Alieu Fadera and Nico Paz registered their first starts for the club. In the first half, Niccolò Casale of Bologna scored an own goal in the fifth minute. In the second half, Patrick Cutrone found the net assisted by Gabriel Strefezza in the 53rd minute. Bologna then equalised through Castro and Illing.

🇬🇧 | “My stop of the No Limits Challenge in Como was really incredible. The view of the villas, the lake and the mountains made the course spectacular, although the August heat added to the challenge! But it was really worth it.”
Joseph Adams is a 21-year-old disabled young athlete, who has embarked on his ‘No Limits Challenge’, a challenge that has him running 100 kilometres in 10 European countries in just five days. The goal is to raise funds to improve sports programmes for people with disabilities. Joseph recounts his visit to Como.
“So many clubs and former players have supported my cause, including big names like Shevchenko and Gerrard. Their support gives me the motivation to continue to improve the world of football for people with disabilities.
“During my visit, I received a Como 1907 jersey as a gift, which I must say is really beautiful. I can’t wait to come back this winter or spring to watch a home game and maybe cheer with the fans at the stadium.”

Como 1907’s Spanish midfielder, Sergi Roberto, spoke about his first two weeks at the club. Sergi compares the playing style in Spain to that of the Serie A Enilive and shares a message to the BiancoBlu fans.
“We’re playing in Serie A, so we have to adapt to the style of this league. The coach is trying to maintain a similar style to what I had in Spain, focusing on possession, dominating the game, and pressing the opponents. We’re working very well on our playing and defensive style, and I think we’re on the right path.
“I’ve walked around Como, and some fans have recognised me, welcoming me to the city and the club. These two weeks have been fantastic. I can’t wait to play in front of our fans, at our home; their support will be crucial for us.”

Cesc Fàbregas, head coach of Como 1907, spoke at today’s press conference ahead of the Lariani’s first home match of the season on Saturday against Bologna. Fàbregas highlighted the importance of the home crowd and commented on the development of Paz and Perrone.
“I love the intense atmosphere at the Sinigaglia, where the fans really get behind the team and make their presence felt. We got used to it last season, especially towards the end, when their support was crucial.
“Paz and Perrone were signed because we believe they can slot into our system well. They’re young and have huge potential. We don’t want to put too much pressure on them, but I’m confident that, in time, they’ll deliver big performances for us.”

Last week, Como 1907 Primavera winger Naj Razi was called up to represent Ireland’s U19 national team. After a narrow 2-1 defeat to France, the team bounced back with a 3-1 victory over Kazakhstan and 1-1 draw against Slovenia. Naj spoke about how his training in Como helped him in the national team, the feeling of representing his country as well as his excitement for the upcoming first game of the season with the Primavera squad.
“No better feeling than representing your country and putting on that jersey, always a proud moment doing my family and my country proud. Now that the international break is done, I’m really looking forward to the first game of the season vs Parma which will be a tough game but I’m very excited for it and ready to help my team on and off the pitch.”
