Como 1907 travel to Verona to face Hellas at the Bentegodi
On Sunday, 18 May, Como 1907 head to the Stadio Bentegodi to face Hellas Verona to take on the pitch on Matchday 37 of the Serie A Enilive championship. The Lariani come into the game off the back of a 3-1 home win over Cagliari, looking to consolidate their position in the top half of the table at tenth place as a newly promoted side. With six consecutive victories, Como are chasing yet another club record.
Hellas, on the other hand, are still fighting for survival. A positive result, combined with favourable outcomes of other bouts, could see them mathematically safe.
“Verona are a solid team that plays direct football, looking to find their two strikers in depth. They like to use the wings with their very fast players, and they defend with all players.
“We’ve found our identity in the last seven, eight matches, with all players in specific roles that help the team. Next year needs to be a year of consolidation, creating that strong stability in Serie A. We need to be aligned in our expectations and know who we are.
“When I arrived here, there wasn’t a family yet; there was a great history, amazing fans, but these pieces were separated. Now, putting all these pieces together creates a force, a structure, and positive energy that everyone feels and makes everyone believe.

Recent Meetings
Como and Hellas Verona have faced each other 13 times in Serie A, with Como winning 4, Verona 3, and 6 matches ending in a draw. The reverse fixture, played at the Sinigaglia on 29 September, saw Como claim a thrilling 3-2 win thanks to a brace from Patrick Cutrone and a late strike by Andrea Belotti.
Como are unbeaten in their last six Serie A meetings with Verona (W2, D4)—their longest such streak against any top-flight opponent. However, at the Bentegodi, the Lariani have only managed one win in six previous visits (W3 Hellas, D2), though they haven’t lost away to Verona since 1988.
Players to Watch
For Hellas Verona, the main attacking threat is Casper Tengstedt, their top scorer with six goals, despite not scoring since 2024. Also dangerous is Daniel Mosquera, who has netted five times off the bench—second only to Lazio’s Pedro among the top five European leagues for goals scored as a substitute. At the back, Diego Coppola stands out as the Serie A leader in both interceptions (69) and aerial duels won (120). The home side will be without key midfielders Ondrej Duda and Tomás Suslov due to suspension.
For Como, Gabriel Strefezza continues his fine run of form with goals in three consecutive matches and 12 total goal involvements this season (6 goals, 6 assists). Supporting the attack is Patrick Cutrone, who has seven league goals to his name. In midfield, Maxence Caqueret provides balance and quality, while Nico Paz remains the youngest midfielder in Europe to record both 5+ goals and 5+ assists this season.
